When did you get your start in the business?  Why? How?

For many years prior to becoming a Realtor, I would visit open houses, always had a passion for homes: the design, features and what could be done to improve them.  When it was time for a career change it felt natural for me to enter this business.  I obtained my license in 2008 and have been a practicing Realtor since.

What do you like about the business? What don't you like?

I would have to say my interest in homes along with the pleasure I receive in meeting new people; people who are bright, kind, and interesting certainly makes my job even more satisfying. I also like the teaching aspect of my job; many clients are first time buyers who need guidance in the process of searching, negotiating and purchasing their first home.  Buying or selling a home is a personal transaction, the trust and respect I gain from my clients is at the top of my list.   It's important for my clients to love their home but I also want it to be a good investment, I am here to help them achieve both these goals.

Describe the funniest or most entertaining transaction you've had?

When I look back at my transactions I found an amusing discovery, it appears when people are moving and in their final days of packing I became the beneficiary of items that sellers insisted on me taking where they no longer had use for them.  I now own a snow blower, an Electrilux vacuum cleaner, a dehumidifier, and many golf books, to name a few.  A collection of trinkets from past clients.  Thank you sellers!

What are the greatest challenges you see in today's market? How do you overcome?

There are many challenges in being a Realtor; another reason I enjoy this profession.  It's nothing new for anyone to read that we are still in a seller's market due to low inventory, with this brings a major challenge for buyers to not only find a home but then to win their bid.  Research and information is key in helping my clients to come up with their best offer, and a best offer does not always mean highest price, there are many factors besides price that makes for a good offer.  I believe with my knowledge of this business due to experience and education, I am able to work through challenges and assure my clients are happy with their end results.

On a side note, when not working, I enjoy spending time with my amazing family, great friends, reading, at the beach, or exercising.   I consider myself someone who has a positive attitude, friendly, and caring.   I also have a great appreciation for the ability to work with the people I do, both in my office and with my clients!
