When did you get your start in the business?  Why? How?

I got into real estate in the fall of 2019. I wanted to change my life and take control of my career. I have a lot of personal interest in real estate and saw a lot of crossover between my skills and those of a REALTOR. It's a great way to invest in yourself and your future while helping other to achieve their goals. I also plan to get into investing with my family in the future.

What do you like about the business? What don't you like?

I like meeting new people and all of the things you learn from real estate. You meet so many different people, get to build relationships with professionals in other fields, learn about home styles, history, conditions, markets, and neighborhoods, and you also get to help others by teaching them about home buying/selling.

Describe the funniest or most entertaining transaction you've had.

My clients were really excited because their offer to purchase was accepted! We conducted the home inspection and found mold all over the attic space. Other than this they thought they home was beautiful, but my clients had dealt with mold in the past and were so disappointed. They decided that wasn't the home for them, but it made them re-focus on what they really wanted in a home. Within a few days of the mold incident, we were under agreement on the home they are now going to buy!

What are the greatest challenges you see in today's market? How do you overcome them?

It can be difficult to get into the market because of the competitive nature of getting an offer accepted. I overcome this by working with my buyer clients to identify the characteristics of their ideal home, their deal-breakers, their purchasing power in the communities they are interested in, and by keeping communication open! Both sellers and buyers need to know their options so they can set a price that is strategic for them to get what they want from the sale/purchase of a home. My job is to guide and advise them through the process.
